Sacristans and Collectors

Service at Central includes making our worship a welcoming experience for our members and visitors alike. Find out more about our Sacristans who care for our worship spaces and our Collectors who take up our offering each week.

Sacristans

If you have been comfortable worshipping at Central Moravian, you have been touched by the work of this committed core of volunteers. Our Sacristans prepare the sanctuary and chapel for worship each week, hand out bulletins, assist members and visitors, help prepare and administer the sacraments, decorate the church for special holidays, serve Lovefeast, distribute candles at Christmas Eve services, and assist as needed at other special services such as weddings and funerals. As you might expect, the time together in such regular and faithful ministry makes this team not only a service organization but a strong fellowship group as well. Check the calendar page for the Sacristans’ schedule. For information about getting involved, contact Tim Brady or Ann Raines through the church office.

Collectors

Many of us make financial contributions which express our gratitude for God’s love and our commitment to care for each other and our neighbors through the ministries of our church. Divided into five teams for each Sunday of the month, our collectors help us make these contributions by taking up our offering during sanctuary services. They also take up our offering during the Christmas Eve Vigil services with some of them serving as fire watchers. Check the calendar page for the Collectors’ Schedule. Contact Glenn Noack if you would like to participate.
