Resettlement Committee

As descendants of the ancient Unitas Fratrum who themselves were refugees during times of war and oppression, and as Christians who are called to welcome the stranger and sojourner, we are committed to the work of refugee resettlement.

In 2015, the Bethlehem Interfaith Resettlement Committee began work helping a Syrian family resettle in the Lehigh Valley.  This work was undertaken by volunteers from Central Moravian, Unitarian Universalist Church, and the Religious Society of Friends Lehigh Valley. For more information about this effort, contact Jim Whilden through the church office, 610-866-5661.

Late in 2021, a new effort began to help an Afghan family resettle Bethlehem.   Volunteers for this effort come from Moravian congregations in Bethlehem and the Unitarian Universalist Church. For more information about how to get involved, contact Louisa Frey through the Church Office at 610-866-5661.
