Sunday Parking

Sunday Parking is available on both sides of Church Street on Sunday mornings until 1 p.m. We also offer Sunday morning handicap parking on Heckewelder Alley.

Sanctuary

Built between 1803 and 1806 and located on the corner of Church and Main Streets, the Sanctuary is used for Sunday worship (11 a.m. Sunday after Labor Day through Sunday before Memorial Day; 10 a.m. Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend), weddings, funerals, public lectures, and concerts.

The northeast entrance off Heckewelder Place is handicap accessible.

Heckewelder Place

Heckewelder Place runs southward one-way from Market Street to Church Street. It intersects the Campus Green with the Sanctuary to the west and the Old Chapel and Christian Education building to the east.

The handicap entrance to the Sanctuary building can most easily be reached from Heckewelder Place. Handicap parking spaces are available close to the Sanctuary entrance. On Sunday mornings, handicap parking extends all the way from the Sanctuary entrance to Church Street.

Old Chapel

Built in 1751 and located on the east side of Heckewelder Place, the Old Chapel is used for weddings, funerals, and 9 a.m. Sunday morning worship in the regular season.  Meeting space, a bride’s room, and restrooms are located on the lower level, and the worship space is on the upper level.

The building has a handicap accessible entrance to the lower level and a lift to the upper level.

Campus Green

The Campus Green runs from Main Street up to the Christian Education building. Heckewelder Place intersects the Green with the Sanctuary building to the west, and the Old Chapel and the Christian Education building to the east. With its trees, grasses, and undulating landscape, the space offers beauty and tranquility to the campus and downtown Bethlehem.

Christian Education Building

Built in 1901 and remodeled in 1966 and again in 1998, the Christian Education building is located on the east side of the Campus Green. It is nestled between the Sisters’ House on Main Street and God’s Acre on Market Street. Zinzendorf Parlor, Nitschmann Hall, restrooms, and the kitchen are located on the ground level and are used for funeral receptions, church dinners, programs, the Christmas Putz, Star & Candle Shoppe, and Sunday School and youth programming. Benigna Auditorium, classrooms, and restrooms are located on the first floor. More classrooms are located on the second floor.

The building has an elevator on the ground level, and first-floor entrances are handicap accessible.

Small Parking Lot

A small parking lot beside the Christian Education building offers convenient space for loading and unloading, and limited parking for small meetings in the Christian Education building.

The C. E. building ground floor is handicap accessible from this parking lot. Entrance to the parking lot is to the right off Church Street.

Christian Education Building Parking Lot

The C. E. building parking lot is located beside God’s Acre to the north and the C. E. building to the west. The one-way drive into the parking lot is off New Street beside the Kemerer Museum. The drive out of the parking lot exits onto Church Street across from the Bethlehem Public Library. On school days, the parking lot is used by Moravian Academy and is not available until after 6 p.m.

Handicap accessible sidewalks connect the parking lot to the front first-floor entrance to the C. E. building and around the west side of the building to the Campus Green and kitchen door entrances on the ground floor level.

Church Office Building

Across from the sanctuary and on the south side of Church Street is the Church Office Building at 73 W. Church Street, which provides staff offices and a conference room on the first and second floors. The Food Pantry, Cynthia’s Boutique clothing closet, and the Candle Making Room are located in the basement.
