Mid-Week Lenten Dinners and Programs

An event every week that begins at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until March 25, 2026
February 25, “Construction and Evolution of the Old Chapel” touching on the construction, original layout and decor, and usage of space throughout the years. Dinner: Social Action Committee and Teams
March 4, “Famous Visitors in the Old Chapel”. Central’s young people will share anecdotes from famous visitors including Ben Franklin, Martha Washington, Lafayette, etc. Dinner: Moravian Women, Bible Studies
March 11, “Indigenous Peoples in the Old Chapel”. This program will explore the 1792 visit by Chiefs and Warriors of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Confederacy; and Moravian church’s involvement with indigenous people.
Dinner: Congregational Potluck (sign-ups at earlier dinners)
March 18, “Moravian Academy – Then and Now” Head of the Moravian Academy downtown campus, Abby Mahone will join Charlene Donchez Mowers. Dinner: Busy Workers
March 25, “Music in the Chapel and a Singstunde”. Music through the years, including organs, hymns, musical landmarks and concluding with a Singstunde led by Becky Lepore. Dinner: Central’s Choirs
For those not able to attend the programs in the Old Chapel, a Zoom showing will be held in the CE building after dinner on the Smart Board.
