Indigenous People and Early Bethlehem: A Walking Tour
Indigenous people—both visitors and residents—have been part of Bethlehem since its founding. On this walking tour you will learn about the deep, persistent, and complex relationships that Lenape, Mohicans, and Haudenosaunee people formed with the Moravians at Bethlehem. We will visit the last surviving home from Nain (a nearby Indigenous village), which was moved to Bethlehem in 1765. Please join us for a remarkable and enlightening story. This tour will be held on Saturday, October 11th at 1:30 p.m., starting in the Old Chapel and will last approximately 90 minutes. Participants should expect to walk some steps, up to God’s Acre and around the historic campus. Please register by emailing the church office ([email protected]).
