World Heritage Community Celebration

Moravian Heritage is Our Community Heritage – Let’s Celebrate on Sept. 6th

Join us for a block party from Payrow Plaza at City Hall to the Church Green between 12 – 7 p.m. to celebrate our World Heritage inscription and remember this designation as more than the historic buildings we treasure, but also the living traditions and community we have today!

Here’s what to expect:

12 – 1 p.m. Opening ceremonies on Church Green, Unveiling of World Heritage inscription plaque and mural, Time of Remembrance in God’s Acre
1 – 5 p.m. Payrow Plaza and Church Green – Live Music, Children’s Activities, Free Giveaways, Community and Moravian booths
1 – 5 p.m. Food Trucks along Church Street
3 p.m. Johnston Festival Memorial Concert, Sanctuary
2 & 4 p.m. World Heritage Tours (meet at Gemeinhouse)
Old Chapel and Sanctuary will be open for visitors.
5 p.m. Community Lovefeast with BAM Churches on Lower Green
5 – 7 p.m. Free Ice Cream Social (Lower Green) sponsored by BAM Ministries Committe
