Discover Our Shared History: A Tour of Black Heritage Sites in Philadelphia – September 27
Hosted by the Racial Justice Team

Join us for a powerful journey through American history as we explore Philadelphia with a focus on Black heritage and the deeper, more complete story of our nation’s past. This is not Black history or white history—it is our shared American history, told more truthfully and fully. This three-and-a-half-hour seated tour will be led by historian Charlene Palmore-Lewis, who will guide us to important sites including:

• The President’s House
• Congo Square
• The London Coffee House
• Mother Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church (30-minute visit)
Schedule:
• Departure: 10 AM on Saturday, September 27 from College Hill Moravian Church
parking lot
• Lunch: Bring your own brown bag lunch to enjoy en route
• Tour Start: 1 PM at the Independence Visitor Center (Charlene joins us here)
• Return: Depart Philadelphia at 4:30 PM, back in Bethlehem around 6 PM
