DESCRIPTION:Christmas Cookie Walk \n“Is a Cookie Walk a thing?” Pastor Hopeton asked at a Fundraising Committee Meeting. He was familiar with Cake Walks but not a Cookie Walk. I suspect many of our members know what to expect\, but for those who do not\, here are a few details.\nCookie Walks have a popular history with nonprofits as a fundraiser. Plainly stated\, volunteers supply baked cookies to a venue and everyone is invited to come and shop for their favorites. This year our Christmas Cookie Walk will be in Benigna Auditorium. Cookies will be accepted on Sat.\, December 14\, between 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 – 3:30 pm. Tables will be arranged with cookies on display and for sale from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Sun.\, December 15. Members are invited to come in and pick up a pastry box and gloves\, and then walk through the display to make their selections. Each box of cookies will be $10. There will also be pre-boxed cookies for a grab and go option at the same price. \nThank you to the many who have volunteered to bake cookies. We request that you provide your name\, the name of the cookie and the ingredients on a 3X5 card\, which will be provided to you at church or in the church office in November. A total recipe is not needed. How many cookies should you bring? One church that also does a Cookie Walk requests six dozen cookies. We request that amount as a guide\, but you may choose to provide more or less. We continue to seek additional cookie bakers to make this event a delicious success. If you haven’t volunteered to bake yet\, there is still plenty of time to contact Mary Catherine Tachovsky at 610-691-3737 or mctachovsky@gmail.com.\nWe are planning for some gluten free varieties. Some bakers have decided to make Moravian Spice Cut Outs\, Salt Cookies\, Birds Nests\, Peanut Butter\, and Bar Cookies with Sprinkles. Please add your favorite to the list. When you decide on your choice\, email or call\, Mary Catherine. We hope to provide a good variety of choices.\nAny cookies not purchased will be donated. The Cookies are coming!

DESCRIPTION:Worship in Benigna\nJoin us on Sat.\, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m in Benigna Auditorium for a worship service celebrating God’s role as Liberator. Hear how God used Moses to confront Pharaoh and to bring the enslaved Hebrew people out of bondage into freedom. Think about the ways you and others are enslaved today and cross your own Red Sea into the freedom of God’s grace. There will be hands-on activities to help people of all ages go deeper into the story. This service is appropriate for people of all ages. The service takes the place of our regular 9 a.m. Chapel worship and 10 a.m. Sunday School on Sun.\, Oct. 20\, which have been canceled due to the Runners World Half-Marathon.

The Care for Creation subcommittee of Social Action invites you to share pizza and dessert\, as we watch the documentary The Human Element. Most of us know about the 4 elements: earth\, water\, fire and air. This new film considers a 5th element – the human element – and what is our place in and responsibility to the natural world. RSVP so we order enough pizza. To help defray costs\, we suggest an offering of $1/slice of pizza.
