DESCRIPTION:Good Friday Communion\nAt 10 a.m. in the Chapel on Good Friday morning\, we gather for Prayers of Intercession and Holy Communion. This quiet and gentle service prepares us for what is yet to come on Good Friday: Jesus’ trial\, crucifixion\, and death. \nGood Friday Crucifixion Service\nWe gather in the sanctuary at 2:15 p.m. to read and sing together from Readings for Holy Week. We journey with Jesus from his trial before Pilate to his suffering and death on the cross. The service concludes in silence as we wait to return on Easter to embrace the good news of Christ’s resurrection. \nSeven Last Words Service\nThe evening of Good Friday at 7 p.m.\, is a time for quiet contemplation\, prayer\, and meditation as this service focuses us on the last words of Jesus. Based on the reading “Poem After The Seven Last Words” by Mark Strand\, our worship will be filled with a time of silence\, musical meditations and hymns in the beauty of the Old Chapel. The poem was originally commissioned by the Brentano String Quartet for reading during their performance of Haydn’s masterpiece\, The Seven Last Words of Christ. Join us in the Old Chapel.
