SUMMARY:Candle Makers
DESCRIPTION:Candle-Making 2021  \n With partial emergence from last year’s Coronavirus restrictions\, The Candlemakers will produce beeswax candles again in 2021. However\, our “normal” procedures will change and we shall impose a series of protocols to minimize the chances of infection.   \n Because our work space is limited\, we will:  \n\nOperate 3 large fans to draw fresh\, outside air through the external door to the lower (wick preparation/food bank) room\, draw it up into the upper (hot shop/wax pouring) room\, and exhaust it out the external door in that room. This means that the spaces will be neither heated or cooled\, so participants should dress appropriately for “outside” conditions. \n\n\nRequire that all participants be fully vaccinated. \n\n\nYou will need to show your vaccination card to Bobb Carson (in the hot shop) or Linda Thudium (in the wick preparation room). \n\n\nBecause of the vaccination requirement\, wearing masks will be optional\, unless pandemic conditions deteriorate again. In that case\, we will notify all participants of the need to wear a mask. \n\n\nProvide appropriate distancing by  \n\n\nScheduling 2 candle-making sessions each week on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings\, 9AM-noon\, beginning on September 7; \n\n\nlimiting the number of participants to:  \n\n\n8 people in the hot shop and 8 in the wick preparation room on Tuesdays;  \n\n\n8 people in the hot shop and 3 in the wick preparation room on Wednesdays (as there will be fewer wicks to prepare on the second day); \n\n We expect to be making candles September 7 and 8\, 14 and 15\, and 21 and 22. Depending on our productivity and user demand\, we may extend production to September 28 and 29.   \n Please pre-register for a particular date (or dates) by calling Bobb Carson (610-346-8012). Registrations will be secured on a first-come-first-serve basis. If there is no answer\, please leave your date preferences and your phone number and email address on the answering machine. We’ll confirm or deny your request by phone or email.  \n Finally\, if you register\, but find yourself feeling unwell shortly prior to\, or on the day that you have scheduled\, please do not attend.
