Moravian Christmas Experience

Step into history as you enter the 200 year old sanctuary of Central Moravian Church located in the heart of the Moravian Historic District in downtown Bethlehem, and experience the sounds, sights and traditions of a Moravian Christmas. Listen and sing along with Christmas favorites and Moravian traditional hymns played on the majestic pipe organ, accompanied by Central brass and choir.

When was the popular Moravian star first created?   How did Bethlehem get its name and reputation as the Christmas City? Who are these early Moravians and who are they today?  Filled with tradition, music and memories, a Moravian Christmas Experience promises to be an event  that you and your family will not forget!

Free admission - free-will offerings gratefully accepted!   Doors open at 1 p.m..

If you are interested in bringing a group to this event, please contact the church office.

Christmas Eve Vigils - Dec. 24

There are 3 services on Christmas Eve at Central Moravian Church.  At 1 p.m., a Childrens’ Lovefeast is held – lots of families enjoy this service – and the children too! At 5:30 p.m. and again at 8 p.m., the beautiful anthems and hymns of the Christmas season are enjoyed by the light of the historical gas lamps and then the trimmed beeswax candles after they are distributed to worshippers.

To receive your free tickets, please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the church office with a note stating how many tickets you would like and which service you prefer (first come, first served). Please include your phone number in case we should need to reach you. Tickets are not mailed until the second week in December.
