Living the Questions – Adult Education Course continues this spring
Christian Spring - Thursdays, continuing Jan. 14, 10 a.m., Coffee/tea served
“Living the Questions” seeks not to provide easy answers, but to be a resource for people who are in the midst of a life-long conversation about the mysteries of faith and life.
This year, Central’s Adult Education program will be offering a year-long class called “Living the Questions,” a DVD-series and discussion curriculum written specifically for the local church’s questions about its lived theology in topics like Taking the Bible Seriously, the Lives of Jesus, Evil, Suffering and a God of Love, Debunking the Rapture, Prayer, Social Justice, and much more.
Join us in the comfortable living room at Christian Spring each Thursday morning at 10 a.m. for coffee/tea and to talk about issues of the intersection of faith, the church, and your life. Pastor Janel will be leading this program and study materials (but no assignments!) will be available for each session. Living the Questions begins on Thursday, Sept. 17th from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and will continue each Thursday until Thanksgiving. No year-long commitment is required, but please register with the church office. Friends and non-members welcome.
Winter/Spring Movie Nights at Christian Spring - 2nd Fridays!
6 p.m. – Light Dinner served
6:30 p.m. – Movie starts, followed by time for discussion
Our popular 2nd Friday Faith and Film Series at the Christian Spring Estate will continue for a winter/spring series in February. Join us February 12 for “Bonhoeffer” about Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Lutheran minister, theologian, and active resister against the Nazi government of the 1930’s and 40’s Germany, who dared to stop Hitler’s evil and paid the price with his life. New York Times calls the film, “"A touching narrative on the nature of faith.” We begin with a light dinner at 6 p.m. and film at 6:30 p.m. at Christian Spring. Other films for the spring include: March (Seventh Seal), April (Food Inc.), and May (The Fisher King).
