Concert Series
Central Moravian Church is proud to sponsor wonderful concerts throughout the year. Below is a list of our concert series for Fall 2011 and Spring 2012. We hope you will join us for one or several of these memorable performances this year. Please consult our music brochure for descriptions of each group as well as ticket information, suggested donations and other musical offerings.
A German Requiem by Johannes Brahms - Sunday, November 6, 2011, 4 p.m. in the sanctuary. Celebrate this Johnston Festival Concert with the Central Moravian Church festival choir and orchestra conducted by Maestro Donald Spieth. Free
An Advent Organ Concert – Rebecca Owens, organist – Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. This program will include favorite and beloved Advent and Christmas arrangements on the recently renovated and enhanced Möller/Walker organ. Suggested Donation, $10.
Two-Part Invention - Friday, February 10th, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the Old Chapel. Enjoy the wonderful music of Two Part Invention dueop Nora Suggs, flute and John Arnold, guitar as they perform repertoire randing from J.S. Bach and historical Moravian Music to Argentine tangos and modern commissed works. Suggested Donation $10
A Spring Organ Concert – Rebecca Owens, organist – Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 3 p.m. Come spend an enjoyable afternoon listening to favorite organ classics as well as imaginative and festive hymn arrangements on the King of the Instruments. Suggested Donation $10
Contemplative Worship in the Old Chapel
Contemplative worship is an informal setting in whcih we quiet ourselves in order to be open to the presence of God. Lives are so busy with exhausting schedules and constant interruptions that our souls yearn for a place of still, reflective, meditative rest that will refill and revitalize.

Wednesday, March 28, 2012, 7 p.m. Rebecca Owens (piano) and Andrea Wittchen (harp) present an hour of quiet and reflective music cnetering on hymns and spiritual songs.
An Old-Fashioned Moravian Christmas
Central Moravian Church, in partnership with ArtsQuest, will present six afternoons of an old-fashioned Moravian Music Christmas. Wonderful Christmas carols and traditional Moravian Christmas hymns featuring singers, instruments and pipe organ will make this an incredible experience to remember forever. Tickets are available through www.christmascity.org. Dates (Thurs., Fri., Sat.) are December 1-3 and Thursday, and Saturday, December 8 & 10 at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
