presented by the Bethlehem Moravians!


Featuring:

Lovefeast worship services each day on the church green.
A lovefeast is a Moravian traditional service of sharing a light meal (bun, cookie, sugarcake, etc. and a drink) together symbolizing the renewal of community. It often features special music or a time to talk with your neighbor.

Churches:
Advent, East Hills, Edgeboro, Central, College Hill and West Side
Institutions: Moravian Academy, Moravian College & Seminary, Moravian Museum, Moravian Village, Moravian Archives, and Moravian Houses I, II and III

Delicious food served all day in our Christian Education building
Pork sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, delicious homemade desserts and much more!
Air-conditioned and handicapped accessible seating inside as well as outdoor seating!

  • The 1751 Old Chapel
  • The 1806 Sanctuary of Central Moravian Church

Children's crafts, games and storytelling by Moravians in colonial dress!

Moravian Sugar Cake Bake Off Saturday, 12:00 pm

Musical entertainment all day, including:

  • Russ Rentler (Saturday) • Well-known and beloved Lehigh Valley singer/songwriter and acoustic musician who performs original and traditional songs on hammer and Appalachian dulcimers, guitar, banjo, mandolin, bouzouki, autoharp and dobro. Not to be missed!
  • Joe Mixon Duo (Friday and Saturday) • An exciting duo featuring gospel and contemporary Christian music and much more.
  • A Sampling of Hymns throughout the years • Featuring local Moravian organists!
  • Grace Spruiell Presents African-American Spirituals, Songs and Stories (Saturday) • A journey through time, exploring African-American history, experiences, slave narratives and personal stories. Not recommended for children under age 10 because some of the slave descriptions can be quite intense.
  • Central Moravian String Quartet
  • Bethlehem Area Trombone Choir

Directions:

It's easy to get to Central Moravian Church's campus, and we have plenty of free parking available.

From Route 22:
Take Route 378 south to Exit 3 (Center City); stay in left lane on ramp. At end of ramp, turn left onto Third Avenue. Turn left at light onto Broad Street. Follow Broad Street to New Street. Turn right at light onto New Street. At the second light you will be at the intersection of New Street and Market Street. Go through the intersection and watch for the black iron fence on your right, when the black iron fence ends, turn right into the drive just before the Kemmerer Museum. Parking lot is straight ahead. The Christian Education (where the food is served) is the brick building straight ahead. Our church green is just ahead.

From Quakertown/Rt. 309:
Go south on Rt. 309 until you reach Rt. 378. Turn right onto Route 378 South. Go up, over and down a long hill into South Bethlehem. (This is a congested area, watch signs carefully.) Stay on Route 378. As Route 378 goes over Hill-to-Hill Bridge, turn right toward Center City (Route 191). Turn left onto Main Street (Route 191). Turn right onto Market Street. Turn right at light onto New Street. Watch for the black iron fence on your right, when the fence ends, turn right into the drive just before the Kemmerer Museum. Parking lot is straight ahead. Walk west past Christian Education Building, bear left. The Christian Education (where the food is served) is the brick building straight ahead. Our church green is just ahead.

From Route 78:
From I-78, Take Rt. 412 (Hellertown Exit.) From the ramp, make a right onto 412 North. Follow 412 North (where the road comes to a Y, bear left) to Daly Avenue to E. Third Street. Follow E. Third Street to New Street. Make a right onto New Street and go over the Fahy Bridge. After you go over the bridge, do not make a right at the light. Proceed straight toward the City Center and follow the road around the City Center. Make a left onto Church Street and a right onto New Street. Watch for the Kemmerer Museum on your left. Turn left into the alley. Parking lot is straight ahead. The Christian Education (where the food is served) is the brick building straight ahead. Our church green is just ahead.
