Action & Advocacy

We believe an engaged faith is an important piece of spiritual development. The Social Action Commitee and other members of Central work hard to find a multitude of ways of action and advocacy.

The Social Action Committee is committed to:

  • the annual October Crop Walk for Church World Service hunger relief (Oct. 11th, 1:30 p.m. Contact Helen Foraste)
  • the November drive for Christmas gifts/clothes for children of Head Start
  • occasional presentations, films, or discussion groups on different religious faiths and issues of social concern
  • Environmental Awareness and Peace and Justice Awareness
  • Bread for the World Offering of Letter for Hunger Relief (in Spring)
  • Yearly Study Group looking at Social Justice issues called Traveler's Together
