Sunday School

The Toddler, Pre-K and Kindergarten class will focus on a story lesson each Sunday to explore how God loves us. These classes are geared for 2, 3, 4 and 5 year olds and feature a story lesson and play time in the nursery room on the first floor of the C.E. building, using some of Moravian Academy’s wonderful toys and games,  Jane Corvino and Gayle Dimmick are our teachers. Parents of children under 3 are welcome to stay if needed.

Our 1st – 5th graders class meet on the lower level of the C.E. building (middle classroom) and engage in month-long themes to learn and engage in our faith stories.   Music is part of our class, our children's choir practices as a part of the last 15 minutes under the direction of JoAnna Freund.    Crafts and creative story-telling engage our children in the faith stories.   Our teachers are JoAnna Freund and Diana Worley.

Middle School  and Senior High students meet in the Extended Classroom on the second floor of the Christian Education building.

This shorter church service, September through May, includes a children’s message and ends at about 9:45 a.m.  After the service, there's plenty of time for children & parents to attend Sunday School. Bible story books, as well as worship packets with coloring materials are available for children; accessible restrooms are located in the lower level of the Old Chapel, as are comfortable seating areas if you must leave the service.  A changing table is also located downstairs.  This service will often feature youth readers, and children helping with lovefeast.

Confirmation

Young people in the seventh and eighth are invited to take part in instruction leading to the Rite of Confirmation. Confirmation is the time for our young people to prepare to affirm their faith and the promises made for them at baptism, and to accept the responsibilities of adult membership.

The class explores different spiritual practices; Moravian history, polity, and practice as well as an overview of significant bible stories.   Students are also responsible to attend worship and participate in service activities.   This year, our confirmation class meets on Sunday mornings, 9:30 to 10:45 p.m. and one or two Friday nights a month.

Confirmation will take place on Pentecost Sunday, June 4, 2017. For more information about Confirmation and the schedule, please contact the office.
