Vacation Bible School
Each summer, children and their parents gather on the Central campus for a time of enrichment and fun as we offer Vacation Bible School.
VBS can take on many different forms. One year, we held our Bible School on two subsequent evenings, beginning with dinner in our Christian Education Building. Children and parents who wished to stay took part in an opening worship outdoors on the church green and then broke into groups to learn about Moravian Christmas customs. Another year, we focused on a tour of the Central campus and some of the nooks and crannies of the church, including a trip to our towering belfry with its breathtaking view of the city. We learned that our church’s history is really a history of the city of Bethlehem and a history of the shared faith of those who have gone before us.
Bible School is never complete without music, Bible stories, games, crafts, a closing program for parents and just getting to know each other as we grow in the faith together.
In 2006, our VBS took place over 3 once a month family gatherings. One evening, we learned about community service and reaching out to others. Another evening was devoted to caring for our environment. The final evening focused on what it means to come to the Lord’s Table.
What will VBS be like this year? Watch for more details as we plan! Friends are always welcome!
