Church School
Church School starts Sunday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m.
New this year: the Lobby Cafe, join us for a cup of coffee or some juice starting at 9:45 a.m. in the Christian Education building's lobby before Church School classes.
Parents are Welcome . . . at any of the adult church school groups including our newly formed Parents Groups, led by Mary Shields and meeting downstairs in the small CE classroom. The Parents Group is an informal gathering geared around getting to know other parents and discovering more about the church school lessons and faith themes your children are learning.
"Family" Old Chapel service at 9 a.m.; a shorter church service that includes a message and special music but ends around 9:45 a.m. in plenty of time for church school. Located in the Old Chapel, the 9 a.m. service provides special books for children and easily accessible bathrooms and couches in the basement of the Old Chapel.

A team of dedicated teachers meet with our children to teach them the basics of the Bible, trust in Christ and a loving concern for others. Classes follow the Lutheran-based Witness curriculum ages 4 - 8th grade. Senior High uses a contemporary issues discussion format and our 2-3 year old class uses the "Rock a Bye" lessons. Mia Mecleary is our Church School Superintendent.
Our beloved annual Advent Workshop, held on the first Sunday of Advent during church school is a time for children of all ages to make snacks and crafts for the season.

The Sojourners Class meets in Nitschmann Hall, basement of the Christian Education Building under the leadership of David Henkelmann. The class has been using the lectionary readings for the day as the basis for study.
