Church School
ALL AGES CHURCH SCHOOL
Each Sunday morning at 10 a.m., from September through May, our church family
gathers for Church School - for all ages.
We begin with children who are 2 years old, who join Mrs. Lantz in the nursery for stories and activities appropriate to their age. A pre-Kindergarten class and classes grouped for children in Kindergarten and Grade One; Grades 2 and 3; Grades 4 and 5 and Grades 6 - 8 are held each week in the Christian Education Building.
Senior High Youth, grades 9 -12 meet for their Chat Group in the Old Chapel basement.
A team of dedicated teachers meet with our children to teach them the basics of the Bible, trust in Christ and a loving concern for others. Some teachers prefer to use the assigned lectionary Scripture texts for the day to create their own lessons. Others use the printed curriculum series called "Witness," by Augsburg Publishing Co. Still other classes may be using a series produced by Heifer International. A special Church School music program is also offered for those teachers and classes who desire it. Mia Mengel is our Church School Superintendent.
Our beloved annual Advent Workshop, held on the first Sunday of Advent during church school is a time for children of all ages to make snacks and crafts for the season.

ADULT CHURCH SCHOOL
Adult Church School classes include the Friendship Bible Class, which meets in the church office conference room. Dr. Howard Cox has been the main teacher.
The Sojourners Class meets in Nitschmann Hall, basement of the Christian Education Building under the leadership of David Henkelmann. The class has been using the lectionary readings for the day as the basis for study.
The Coffee Class, which meets in the Zinzendorf Parlor of the Christian Education Building, deals with contemporary issues (and coffee!) and is led by Mike Zuk. All classes are open to visitors.
Special programs and series are offered from time to time. This fall, look for a special presentation on Moraivan funeral practices and planning your funeral. Other classes will offer occassional book discussion as well.
